Asus G75VW Review: A Budget-Friendly Gaming Laptop With Mediocre Performance - batsonallind

Asus probably isn't the prototypical company that comes to mind when you think of big desktop replacement laptops that are optimized for gaming. The Asus G75VW, however, is the latest in a long line of gaming laptops produced by the troupe under the "Republic of Gamers" brand. Considering that gaming laptops oft go for symptomless over $2000, this big machine is relatively budget-priced, and information technology isn't awful–only it ISN't great, either. Although IT suffers in general performance, sound quality, and barrage life, it has a dainty CRT screen, and the price May be appropriate.

Our review model, priced at $1500 (as of May 23, 2012), sports an Intel Core i7-3610QM processor, 12GB of RAM, 1.5TB of hard-drive space, and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 660M artwork chip. Information technology also has built-in 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and a Blu-ray/DVD combo drive. The G75VW runs the 64-moment version of Windows 7 Home Premium.

Functioning

In our WorldBench 7 benchmark tests, the G75VW posted a worthless scotch of 97. Test and Speakers

The G75VW has a 17.3-inch LED-backlit mat up screen with a indigenous resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels. The Asus G75VW is a budget-priced gaming laptop, and in this case you kind of get what you pay for. Wear't drive me wrong: The G75VW can make for most games at an good level, and it's a fairly attractive machine to boot. Plus, IT has a great screen with excellent viewing angles.

That said, it's lacking in general public presentation, and information technology's nonentity like much of the higher-end gaming laptops we've seen, such as the Origin EON17-S. But then, though the EON17-S has double the WorldBench 7 seduce of the G75VW, IT also costs to a higher degree twice every bit much.
